Civil Society Organization (CSO) Representatives and CSO Desk Officers in Central Luzon convened during the two-day activity entitled "Partners in Governance: Expanding CSO Capacities for Inclusive Governance and Grassroots Empowerment" held on November 27-28, 2025, at SMX Convention Center Clark, Pampanga.
The activity is in line with the Department's ongoing programs to enhance CSO–LGU collaboration to further promote transparency in government transactions, accountability of public officials, and inclusive decision-making in local development planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Particularly, the CSOs were trained on the concepts, frameworks, and their roles as members of various Local Special Bodies, specifically on disaster risk reduction and management and monitoring and evaluation of local development programs and projects. The City Government of Pasig shared their journey towards the successful establishment of the Pasig City CSO Academy, while the Guiguinto Federation of Homeowners Association, Inc. showcased their best practices and experiences on meaningful and lasting CSO–LGU partnerships.
The event also featured an awarding ceremony recognizing the Most Active CSO Partners of LGUs in Central Luzon, highlighting organizations whose dedication has strengthened participatory governance and community engagement.
DILG Central Luzon reaffirms its commitment to upholding transparent and participatory local governance by enabling CSOs to be competent partners of LGUs in nation building and development.
