The DILG Pampanga conducted the “Digital Synergy Through BIMS: Optimization of Barangay Systems and Reimagining Local Government Operations” on November 27, 2025, through a hybrid format via Zoom and at Otel, Lazatin Blvd., City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The activity was attended by barangay officials from various cities and municipalities across the province.

The activity started by recognizing the top-performing barangays with the highest number of encoded inhabitants in the system. This recognition not only showcased their commitment to digital transformation but also served as inspiration for other barangays to continue strengthening their adoption of the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS).

The three key digital tools under BIMS were also introduced during the activity namely the Barangay Asset Management System (BAMS), Barangay Disaster and Resilience Information System (BDRIS), and Barangay GAD Plan and Budget Management System (GADPBMS).

As Pampanga remains one of the most flood-prone provinces in the country, special emphasis was given to the BDRIS module. The system enables barangays to gather, update, and utilize disaster-related data more efficiently—especially during critical situations and emergency response operations.

DILG Pampanga is hopeful that continued use of these digital systems will enhance barangay operations, strengthen data-driven governance, and ultimately improve service delivery to Kapampangans.
