Farmers across various barangays are set to benefit from newly procured pumps and engines, officially handed over in a ceremony led by local officials.

Funded under the FY 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund, the Php 1,153,000.00 " Procurement of Pumps and Engines,” the project aims to to strengthen agricultural support services, ensure food security, and improve farmers’ livelihood.

Lubao, known as the largest rice-producing town in Pampanga and one of the top producers nationwide, dedicates much of its land to rice cultivation. Its significant contribution to the country's rice supply underscores the importance of sustaining and modernizing its agricultural practices.

Beneficiary farmers’ associations expressed gratitude, noting that the equipment will help address irrigation challenges, enhance crop yields, and increase income opportunities.

Mayor Esmeralda G. Pineda reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to agricultural development, emphasizing the crucial role of farmers. “Kung wala pong mga farmers, walang kanin, walang bigas, wala din pong gulay na makakain. Saludo po ako sa inyong sipag at dedikasyon,” she said.

The turnover ceremony is a testament to Lubao's commitment to inclusive development showcasing effective collaboration between local government, national agencies, and the farming sector. It reflects the municipality's broader vision of governance rooted in empathy, accountability, and active citizen participation.
