As a commitment to the Justice Sector Coordinating Council (JSCC) and pursuant to its mandate to further strengthen the capacities of local government units towards the effective delivery of basic services to the citizenry, including social protection services and administration of justice, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) spearheaded the conduct of the Regional Roll-Out on the Capacity Building for the BCPC in Handling CRA and CICL and Formulation of CLJIP on November 15-19, 2021 at Terrace Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City.

 The activity was aimed to capacitate the BCPC members of 10 barangays in Angeles City on the protocols in handling CAR and CICL and formulation of their respective Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP).

In his opening remarks, DILG Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando shared the importance of knowing the basic core rights of a child and the importance of aligning their initiatives at the barangay level.

The activity was also attended by Director Dennis D. Villaseñor of the National Barangay Operation Office (NBOO). He emphasized the relevance of the activity particularly the formulation of their CBJIP for this will be their guiding path as they continue their efforts to further mainstream child friendly local governance.

In his closing message, Assistant Regional Director Jay Timbreza expressed his gratitude to the participants for their active participation to the activity. He also highlighted the purpose of the activity and the relevance of capacitating barangays on this topic.

The activity was participated in by the esteemed Resource Person from Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC), Mr. Reyman M. Bimeda, RSW and the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) Members of target Barangays in Angeles City, Pampanga namely: Barangay Cutud, Cutcut, San Jose, Cuayan, Pulung Cacutud, Malabanias, San Nicolas, Sta. Trinidad, Sto. Domingo and Sto. Rosario, Angeles City. This activity is the first face-to-face training conducted by DILG R3 with fully vaccinated participants.
