The Department of the Interior and Local Government in Central Luzon will be conducting a Tapatan Roadshow on Disaster Preparedness and Climate Change Adaptation entitled, “Magtapatan Tayo, Handa Na Ba Kayo?”, on June 06, 2012 at Oxford Hotel, Clarkfield, Pampanga.
The Tapatan Roadshow aims to advocate and institutionalize the concept of disaster preparedness among local government units regionwide as well as instill in the minds of the public their respective tasks and roles before, during, and after a disaster. This is also in adherence to Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010” and Republic Act 9729 or the Climate Change Act.
During the activity, Secretary Jesse M. Robredo will be discussing DILG relevant programs on disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation and good governance. Central Luzon’s Governors, City and Municipal Mayors, Provincial and HUC LnB Presidents, LGU DRRM officers, Provincial and HUC Committee Chairmen on Environment, Public Information Officers of Provinces and HUCs, NGOs, CSOs, POs, and NGAs will participate in the said activity.
Other highlights of the affair include sharing of LGU best practitioners on disaster preparedness and presentations on the Regional State of Disaster Preparedness, Weather Forecast for 2012 and Region 3 Hazard Maps.
